New Hillsong album declares ‘No Other Name’

Hillsong Worship - No Other Name

Hillsong’s new music project is all about one name; but before the album’s launch, they decided to “take over” one of the world’s most iconic landmarks – Times Square New York City!

The cover of their first album under the rebranded ‘Hillsong Worship’ label – titled ‘No Other Name’ – captures the moment 27 electronic billboards in the square lit up with the declaration, after a digital presentation boldly ended with the name – ‘Jesus’.

Hillsong’s senior pastor Brian Houston said it was significant that the album – and the upcoming Hillsong conference – was called ‘No Other Name’.

“There is a whole lot that is represented in names, but there is one name that stands alone, above all other names. And that of course is not your name or my name – it’s the name of Jesus Christ,” he said.

In what is possibly the most anticipated Hillsong project ever, ‘No Other Name’ will be released on July 1 during Hillsong’s Sydney annual conference. Featuring a distinctive new sound and style while being consistent to the passion expected from Hillsong, the album is widely tipped to have the broadest appeal of any project to date.

‘This I believe’, based on the Apostles Creed, has already received cross-denominational accolades, something the Hillsong team is proud of.

Hillsong’s Global Worship and Creative Pastor, Cass Langton said, “We hope that this album gives Christians songs to sing and words to express their worship and love of God, irrespective of the background, denomination or culture that they come from.”

“It’s our prayer that these songs will help people to locate themselves within a vast story of Christian faith and that our confessions of faith in who Jesus is would help unite us as believers.”

Other tracks include the title track, ‘Broken Vessels’ and ‘Heaven and Earth’ – each with a unique sound but a common theme – pointing the listener to Jesus and leading them into an environment of worship.

‘No Other Name’ features many known artists and worship leaders across the Hillsong team including Reuben Morgan, Ben Fielding, Matt Crocker, Joel Houston, Nigel Hendroff, Autumn Hardmann, Annie Garrett, Jad Gillies, David Ware, and Taya Smith.
